Our History and What We Do

Sefton Education Business Partnership works with businesses, schools, colleges and training providers to provide a range of employability services and opportunities.

We were established in 1998 and are a ‘not for profit’ company, limited by guarantee.

We aim to support schools and colleges in their delivery in the following areas:

  • Statutory Careers Guidance & Ofsted
  • Work Related Learning
  • Enterprise Education

We facilitate this through numerous activities including Work Experience, Application Form/CV workshops, Practice interviews, Business and Enterprise activities, ‘Meet the Professionals’, Higher Education Tasters, Careers Fairs, First Aid courses, Student Training, and Financial Literacy activities.

Our Partners

Our partners include Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), and the many local businesses who give their support and commitment in providing employability opportunities for our young people. We also work closely with Sefton local authority and are their approved provider for pre-16 work experience. More recently, we have also supported schools in the Knowsley area in linking education with business and supporting the development of young people’s employability skills.

In addition we work closely with Children’s University and host Sefton Children’s University Trust and manage Warrington Children’s University. We are also working on an Education Endowment Fund programme, aiming to expand Children’s University in Lancashire and focusing on the ‘Social Action’ benefits of participation in CU.

We are currently working on the following projects with partners as follows:

  • Merseyside Youth Association and Liverpool City Region on ‘Talent Match’ which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund;
  • The Enterprise Advisor Programme, funded by the national Careers & Enterprise Company through the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) This project aims to match strategic business people with a school or college.
  • Working Futures - funded through ESF, a project to provide opportunities for NEET young people aged 16-29

Our Customers

The majority of Sefton's secondary and special schools and colleges, plus many primary schools, buy into our services. We also work closely with a growing number of training providers in the provision of traineeship and apprenticeship opportunities.

Our Team

Our passion for what we do is reflected in our team. We are extremely proud that we enjoy a superb record of staff retention, which enables us to provide a wealth of experience in our field of expertise.
