Schools

Sefton Education Business Partnership can offer a range of learning opportunities to support schools and prepare students for their future.

Key Stage 4 students can obtain ‘non vocational’ work experience; an extended period of work experience linked to their potential career path (for one or two days a week) especially beneficial for those considering Apprenticeships; and a short block of work experience for Post-16 students, more closely aligned to their future study and career plans

We can help students develop the skills they need in their working lives. In addition to our Work Experience programme, we offer workplace visits, ‘Meet the Professionals’ activities and our Employability Guidance Interview programme. We have excellent links with a wide range of employers from the local business community, who release their staff to support our programmes.

Our Business and Enterprise activities can enhance and complement the curriculum and include 'Meet the Professionals' sessions, “A Day in the Life” of a business person and Labour Market Intelligence Sessions. In addition we can support schools in establishing in-house programmes e.g. Peer Mentor/buddy training, Prefect training, School Council training, tailor-made workshops, Financial Literacy, Industry visits, Leadership Programmes and whole year group/school activities

Sefton Education Business Partnership also offers Business Mentoring that has received national recognition for its quality in training, delivery and monitoring. Mentors work on a one-to-one basis with a young person in school who may not be achieving their full potential. We also offer mentoring as part of our Ambition and Growth projects

Our Higher Education 'tasters' include one day visits or two day/one night residentials to give a ‘taste’ of Higher Education. These can be adapted for several different year groups, from Year 9 upwards. All tasters include a tour of the campus, team building activities, motivational talks or activities to help identify skills and help plan for the future

We also offer a range of Pupil Premium activities linked to business and the world of work

Sefton Children’s University is based within Sefton Education Business Partnership and provides 5 to 14 year olds with exciting and innovative learning opportunities outside normal school hours

In addition we can provide First Aid training for staff and students that includes Emergency First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid, Use of a Defibrillator and Heartstart
