Learning from a mentor

We offer Business Mentoring as part of our programme which has been established for over 20 years ago. Our programme has received national recognition for its quality in training, delivery and monitoring.

Mentors work on a one to one basis with a young person in school who may not be achieving their full potential. Whatever the reason for this, the mentor will offer a friendly ear and help the student to establish what is holding them back and what they can do to put it right.

All of the mentors on the programme are given familiarisation training and support throughout their mentoring experience and all are subject to enhanced DBS disclosure. The mentor works very closely with the staff in school and whilst the sessions with the young person are confidential, they will always disclose any issues that are relevant to the appropriate staff.

Mentors usually work on a fortnightly basis for one lesson period a week with a young person for the period of 1 or 2 years during their GCSE studies.

We also offer mentoring as part of our Ambition and Growth projects
