Work experience is a great opportunity to develop your future employability and can take many forms - in school in Year 10 or 11 as a short block, or a day or two a week over the whole academic year, (especially beneficial if you plan on going down the Apprenticeship route), or work experience linked to a specific course or subject while you are at sixth form or college.
You will gain lots of new skills on work experience. You will learn how to communicate with people on different levels, and have the opportunity to work as part of a team and to also to use your initiative. You will have the chance to give your employer some new ideas and put use your creative skills to use. Also you can prove you are open to change and can take on new challenges. All this will be really useful to include on your CV and on any applications you make for further study or employment.
