We have offered work experience to Sefton's schools and colleges for many years. Work experience can take several forms:
- A short block of non vocational work experience in Key Stage 4. Students will be motivated by making the link between school and employment, understand the importance of commitment and good attendance, and will obtain a knowledge of different employment sectors.
- An extended period of work experience in Key Stage 4, for one or two days a week, linked to a potential career path. This is especially beneficial to your students who plan on going down the Apprenticeship route. Students can also study an employability qualification alongside their placement.
- A short block of work experience for Post 16 students, more closely linked to future study and career plans
Students are encouraged to find their own placements wherever possible, and our staff work closely with your school co-ordinator to ensure placements are relevant and appropriate. Sefton EBP visit all employers offering placements, to carry out full Health and Safety checks and ensure appropriate safeguarding procedures. Placements are carried out throughout the year.
